The first Pekin Merigold Festival was held in 1973, and now, young and old look forward to this yearly, after Labor Day weekend event.
The 2015 Pekin Marigold Festival will be held at Mineral Springs Park in Pekin, IL starting on Thursday, September 10th.
This year’s festival will feature Frank Fritz, star of the History Channel hit show American Pickers, a Miss Marigold Pageant, live entertainment, a sand volleyball tournament, the Marigold 5k Run/Walk, a carnival, a climbing wall, a “top dog” pageant, a parade, kids activities, food plus much more.
Here is a list of events that will be taking place for this event-
Thursday, September 10th-

5:30pm – 9:30pm – Carnival Bracelet Night – Baseball fields west of the Arena

Saturday, September 12th-
6:30am – Run With The Saints 5K Run/Walk – Coal Miner’s of Pekin
8am – Dusk/Finish – Sand Volleyball – Sand Volleyball Courts (Rain Date – Sunday)
