The 27th Annual Duck Race benefiting The Center for Prevention of Abuse will kick off at Noon with the race beginning at 2 pm at the Eastside Centre in East Peoria, IL.
A fundraiser for the organization, cost to adopt a duck is $5. Winning ducks are selected at random when the thirty-thousand ducks will race down a slip-n-slide along the street entrance. Prizes include a $5,000 cash grand prize plus gift cards to popular retail stores and restaurants. All proceeds benefit the Center for Prevention of Abuse. Each year, The Center for Prevention of Abuse provides safety and support to over 5,000 women, men and children…of all ages….who have been affected by domestic violence, sexual assault/abuse, elder abuse, and abuse of adults with disabilities. Additionally, The Center provides school based prevention education to approximately 20,000 students each year, focusing on body safety, positive conflict resolution, anti-bullying, and healthy relationships.
The Duck Race is The Center’s largest fundraiser and the success of the Race is essential in raising funds to fill the gaps in funding. Because of the generous Duck Race sponsors, every dollar raised goes directly towards their programs.
