See what’s happening in the State Capital with a glimpse of the Illinois State Fair, Today!
Today, it’s Opening Day at the ISF you can join in with them as they celebrate the County Fairs and Horse Racing Day!
More than 70 county fair queens and 105 fairs and expositions from across the state are represented at the fair on opening day. It is also the first of six days of harness racing at the fair’s one-mile dirt track, which is the fastest in the world.
Just in case you will be there on this day/night, here’s a small synopsis of what’s happening behind the scenes at the ISF:
Friday, August 14th – County Fairs and Horse Racing:
ISF Highlights-
-Ribbon Cutting Ceremony -9:30am
-Open Beef, Sheep, and Poultry Shows
-Junior Barrow, Beef, Pygmy Goat, Wether Shows
-Society Horse Show
-Harness Racing Illinois State Fair Colt Stakes (Two-Year-Old Eliminations)
-Grandstand- Sammy Hagar and The Circle with Collective Soul (7:30pm)
State Fair Weather:
Friday- Sunny & Warmer, Hi-89; Tonight (After Hours)- Mostly Clear, Lo-69
