In case you haven’t heard or seen a difference when you go to the pump, gas prices are dropping down for holiday travel!

A nice surprise for those planning on hitting the road for the holidays as gas prices across the nation are down.

According to WGEM-TV, analysts say there’s so much gas in the U.S. that retail prices are dropping even as oil prices are up a bit.

Those here in the Tri-States said it couldn’t have come at a better time.

Quincy, IL resident Larry Fields said,

“People like to travel, go see grandma, mom and dad and family and it’s great. It’s a really good deal for them.”

The national average is $2.60 a gallon. that’s down more than eight cents in the past six weeks.

For as low as prices are, they’re still higher than they were last year when the national average was $2.43 a gallon.
