Join radio Cumulus Radio stations, 955 GLO, 1057 The X Rocks, 973 Nash FM & Peoria’s 923 WZPW with a chance to get up close with one of the visiting Budweiser Clydesdales during Hitch Against Hunger, November 23, from 10am- 5pm on site at Brewers, 2421 W Townline Rd, Peoria. Hitch Against Hunger will give people the opportunity to have a photo taken with a Clydesdale in exchange for a canned food donation, to be given to Sophia’s Kitchen.
The Budweiser Clydesdales are also scheduled to appear in the 35th annual Festival of Lights Parade, starting at 5:45 p.m. on November 16, weather permitting. The Clydesdales have not appeared in the parade in the last 15 years.
To qualify to be on a Budweiser Clydesdale hitch, a Clydesdale must be a gelding with an even temperament, be at least four years old, stand at least 72 inches tall at the shoulder blades when fully mature, and weigh between 1,800 and 2,300 pounds.
