Clinton, IL police say they’ve gotten many reports on last week of counterfeit one hundred ($100) dollar bills being circulated to area businesses.
According to WAND-TV, Officials say at first glance, the one hundred dollar bills appear authentic.
However, upon closer inspection, police say the bills have the same consistent serial number, and the texture is off.
Law enforcement encourages the use of bill marking pens, and to check for a bill’s water mark.
