“This Is The House That Aretha Built, Y’all; Remember This House!”
It’s been just over two months since Aretha Franklin died, but the Queen of Soul’s home in the affluent Detroit suburb of Bloomfield Township, Michigan, has already been put on the market.
According to Realtor.com, the asking price for the colonial-style mansion is a relatively affordable $800,000.
The 4,100-square-foot residence features five bedrooms and six-and-a-half bathrooms, as well as a sauna room. The house was custom-built in 1990, and the property is located next to the gated community’s lap pool and two ponds.
An earlier Realtor.com article & abcnewsradioonline.com report that Aretha also owned a waterfront condo in Detroit and two properties in the Motor City suburb of Highland Park, MI.
Franklin was 76 when she passed away on August 16, 2018 of pancreatic cancer.
She left her entire estate to her four sons.
