Barack Obama is the president Americans think have done the best job in their own lifetimes, according to a new poll on people-press.org & WEEK-TV.

Thirty-one percent of respondents to the Pew Research poll said Obama was the best president of their lifetimes.

Among the Baby Boomer and Silent Generations, Reagan led. The 40th president came in second overall, with 21 percent of respondents saying he was the best. President Bill Clinton came in third with 13 percent.

Incumbent president Donald Trump came in fifth place, with 10 percent saying he was the best president of their lifetimes.

John F. Kennedy rounded out the top five with seven percent, although he was named as the best by almost a quarter of the people who were alive during his presidency.
