WVEL Entertainment Scope: Lionel Richie To Receive Honorary Degree

The “Dancing On The Ceiling” singer is set to receive a doctorate in music by officials from Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA during a commencement ceremony on May 13, 2017.

Richie was a member of the Commodores, writing such hits as “Easy,” “Three Times a Lady,”  “Sail On,” “Lady (You Bring Me Up),” “Too Hot Ta Trot,” “Still,” and, of course, “Brick House.”

As a solo artist he had 13 consecutive top 10 singles between 1981-1987, including “Endless Love,” “Truly,”  “You Are,” “All Night Long (All Night),” “Penny Lover,” “Running With The Night,” “Say You, Say Me,” “Love Will Conquer All,” and “Hello.”
