This Thursday marks the kick-off to the Illinois State Fair, but if you’re heading there, be prepared to pay more at the gate.

According to cinewsnow.com and WLS-TV (abc7chicago.com), the price of admission to the Illinois State Fair this year will increase to $10 (a 40% price increase from last year’s $7 adult admission).

Not only are admission prices three dollars more for adults, but preview night is no longer free.

Now, preview night will cost you $5; that’s half the regular ticket price.

So if you’re planning to be in the Capital City for this year’s State Fair, make sure you spend your money wisely.

The fair runs August 11th through the 21st.
