According to lisc.org, Peoria Public School District 150 has been granted $50,000 by the Chicago Bears through the National Football League Foundation Grassroots Program to install lights at the Manual Academy football field.

The improvement will allow the local Junior Football League & Manual Varsity teams to schedule night games and practices at the field.

The grant from the Bears, the NFL Foundation, and Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) is part of $2.5 million in field refurbishment awards allocated this year.

As of now, Manual Academy plays their home games at Peoria Stadium.

Manual’s field is one of more than 300 across the state of Illinois to get an upgrade over the years.
