Dear Spike Lee

Over the past few years famed director Spike Lee has had some serious criticism of fellow director Tyler Perry.  By Spike’s own admission (see links below), he has not made a film in the last three years because of the lack of funding.  My question for Spike is why has he not made similar choices that have made his nemesis so successful?  At the height of Spike’s success, he could have easily put together his own studio so that making his own films would not have been completely dependent on the cash flow of others.  I have often wondered why super successful actors and directors have not gotten together to do that years ago.  Oh, I forgot, much like Spike’s feud with Tyler, they would rather sit back and criticize one another rather than put their dollars and star power together to make things happen.  My bad.  Dear Spike, why hate?  Why not congratulate and work with Tyler instead of against him?  Can you imagine the quality of work the two of you could put out?  I believe you could bring out the absolute best in each other.  I know I am being a bit idealistic, but you have to dream, right?
